More than 8,200 people are already actively suffering from the virus. The details:
As the Ministry of the Interior announced on Tuesday, there have been 39,303 positive test results in Austria so far. As of today (9.30 a.m.), 771 people throughout Austria have died as a result of the virus and 30,312 have recovered. At present, 390 people are undergoing hospital treatment due to the corona virus and 75 of those affected are in intensive care units.
A total of 645 new infections in the country were reported to the Ministry today, Tuesday. The largest increase was again recorded in Vienna with 205 cases, followed by Upper Austria and Styria with 86 cases each – “Heute” reported.
The new infections are divided among the provinces of Austria as follows: Vienna 205, Upper Austria 86, Styria 86, Lower Austria 85, Salzburg 77, Tyrol 54, Vorarlberg 27, Burgenland 14 and Carinthia 11.
According to the official Covid 19 dashboard of the Ministry of Health there are currently (as of 16.00) a total of 8,220 active cases in Austria. Most of the active patients are to be found in Vienna; in the federal capital, 4,350 people are currently suffering from the virus.
In Lower Austria, too, the number of active cases is in the four-digit range, with a current total of 1,074 active patients. In Upper Austria (737), Tyrol (597), Styria (529), Salzburg (263), Vorarlberg (455) and Burgenland (118) the number is in three digits. Only in Carinthia is the number of patients with 97 under 100 active cases.
